Platinum Medals at the Best of the Northwest

On October 10th and 11th, Culmina was pleased to participate in Sip Magazine's 12th Annual Best of the Northwest wine competition. This regional event features premium wines from estates across the Pacific Northwest and this year received a total of 665 submissions. All wines were presented blind to a discerning panel of judges made up of sommeliers, wine buyers, journalists and other industry professionals.  

We are delighted to share that we received two platinum medals for Decora 2021 and Unicus 2022. Here are some of the things that the judges had to say about our wines: 

Decora 2021

"Good varietal character. Notes of petrol, fruit, floral. Good, long finish."

"Fruit is on point and wine is delicious. Warm vintage Pfalz."

Unicus 2022

"Strong aromas of tropical fruit and stone fruit on the palate — very fun! Mango, papaya, peach, banana on both the nose and the palate. Tastes like a tropical vacation!"

"Round and slightly unctuous. This wine is brave and can stand up to a spicy dish as well as a light salad."

While we always feel privileged to present wines that are worthy of global recognition, our sense of community moves us to also strive for excellence within our region. Many congratulations to our winemaking team and the rest of this year's winners!
